Tampa Bay Proves Something

The Bucs improved to 3-2 today against the Washington Redskins behind outstanding play by quarterback Brad Johnson and the return of the stifling defense of the defending Super Bowl Champions.

There has been a lot of finger-pointing, but the Bucs beat a talented Washington team with a good mix of play-calling and ample use of backups in the tight ends and the receiving corps.

The Bucs are 3-2, having lost two overtime home games by field goals against talented teams in the Panters and Colts.

The Bucs are 3-2, having lost two overtime home games by field goals against talented teams in the Panters and Colts. The Bucs are proving they are still one of the best teams in the NFL, though their special teams woes are going to continue to haunt them all season, especially when considering records at the end of the year.

The dream of being named the best defense of all time is dead. The collapse against the Colts on Monday Night will stick in people's minds.

A Superbowl Repeat and a 14-2 record might erase that memory. Might.
But the Bucs are still a dangerous team. And teams have to start accounting for our offense, and our NFC leading passer.
