Purdue Squeaks into Top 15

Thanks to a solid victory over Penn State and a lot of moving and shaking among the ranked on Saturday, Purdue has received its highest ranking in three years.

The Purdue football team is ranked 13th in this week's Associated Press poll, released this afternoon. It marks the Boilermakers' higest position since being 13th in the final poll of the 2000 season. They have been higher than 13th only three times under head coach Joe Tiller - the weeks of Sept. 26, 1999 (11th), Oct. 29, 2000 (11th) and Nov. 5, 2000 (ninth).

In the ESPN/USA Today poll, the Boilermakers are ranked 15th. Last week, they were 18th by AP and 20th by ESPN/USA Today.

Congratulations to the Boilermakers, but the real test comes next week when Purdue heads to Camp Randall Stadium to face the Badgers, who ended Ohio State's winning streak Saturday night. Purdue will earn its ranking with a win on Saturday. GO BOILERS!
