OVERRATED, AND HOW.

Here's a side by side comparison of Donovan McNabb, the most touted black quarterback in the NFL, and Steve McNair of Tennessee.

McNair: 100/156, 64.1% completions, 1211 yards, 8 TD, 2 INT, 9 sacks, 99.6 SALARY: 4.95 million dollars
McNabb: 71/141, 50.4% completions, 664 yards, 1 TD*, 5 INT, 15 sacks, 51.3 SALARY: 14.74 million dollars

* - 2nd longest pass attempt without TD drought EVER in NFL

So tell me McNabb isn't overrated, with those lousy stats.

When this controversy broke... (Below threshold)
wally:

When this controversy broke, I thought to myself that Steve McNair is the best quarterback in the NFL. Of course, I am "prejudiced" since I am from Tennessee. I don't believe there's a "push" from the sports media for a black quarterback to succeed so I disagree with Limbaugh there. McNabb gets pumped up because of good PR reps. He's in those soup commercials all over the country. And doesn't he also do some razor commercials too? One last point about the overrated bit: if McNabb was so great (and it is undeniable that he is a better than average QB), how could his team win so many games with a 3rd string quarterback last year. If Steve McNair was to go down, I would hope that Billy Volek could keep us on course, but if it ever got down to our third stringer, it would be a nightmare.
