Mavs to change unis after one game

In what could be the shortest lived uniforms to date - the Dallas Mavericks have decided to ditch the shiny silver uniforms after one game's use.

"It wasn't a costly decision at all," Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said in an e-mail message Thursday. "In this case the uniforms didn't look on the court like we expected them to and we decided to go in another direction.

"It's no big deal. They still look good as casual wear for Mavs fans."

They most likely will end up being auctioned as collector's items, corporate communications manager Dawn Holgate says.

Cuban had decided to introduce a second road uniform this season to "add a slight edge to our current look," he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I went through my personal color inventory and put together a gaggle of tones and shades that I thought best reflected the attitude of the Mavericks.

Just that the gaggle of tones won't apparently include any more reflective silver.
