Cowboys Standing Pat

Dallas Morning News reports that,

The trading deadline came and went Tuesday, and the Cowboys decided to maintain their current roster.

In fact, there were no deals made across the league. Partly hampering any significant deal was the fact that the Cowboys are roughly $1.6 million under the salary cap.

But the Cowboys made several inquiries, expressing interest in San Francisco's Kevan Barlow, but 49ers coach Dennis Erickson met with the running back to affirm the team's commitment to him.

The New York Jets, in need of secondary help because of injuries, asked about cornerback Andrew Davison, but the Cowboys wanted to keep a sixth corner on the 53-man roster.

In the salary cap era, trading appears to be largely a thing of the past.
