Give Tennessee credit for keeping the Raiders off balance. Statistically, McNair and Gannon were nearly identical, but the Raiders offense ran hot and cold.
Neither team could muster a running game, with the Raiders getting zero first downs on the ground while going 1-12 over in 3rd down conversions. The Raiders also consistently shot themselves in the foot with penalties.
Rice and Brown had solid games. Will they hold up for another entire season? I don't see why not, because both are smart enough and elusive enough to avoid the direct hits that less experienced players take. Except for one long pass reception, Garner was quiet.
The Tennessee fans showed a lot of class (not) by cheering while Raider QB Gannon was lying on the turf holding his knee. He returned after a short while, seemingly unaffected.
I suspect both teams will be complaining about the refs, because both teams got the short end of the stick more than once. It was some truly poor officiating.
