No Sign of "Power Shift" Yet

Sure, a Chicago sports writer wants to believe the Vikings' 30-25 victory signals a "power shift" in the NFC North. That's not a surprise since he desparately wants his Bears to have a shot at beating the Packers.

Yesterday's loss was a thrashing, but somehow Favre put 25 points on the board while throwing a bunch of interceptions. What that means is with Favre you always have a chance to win. What was needed was the defense to stop giving up 10+ yard plays. In the first quarter alone, they game up six 10+ yard plays. They couldn't force quick three-and-outs to give Favre more chances to make plays.

The poor defense doesn't excuse Favre's bad decisions. What it shows is better defensive play could have delivered a victory.

For the record - I called t... (Below threshold)

For the record - I called the Minnesota win much earlier.

Green Bay limped into the playoffs last year because of a weak schedule.

This year, they'll be lucky to go 3-3 in their division. And that includes playing the Bears.
