NCAA finds Violations in Auburn University Basketball

According to a breaking news story on the website of the Montgomery Advertiser,

After concluding a 10-month investigation of the men’s basketball program at Auburn, the NCAA has found evidence of major rules violations involving one current and one former assistant coach.

The NCAA’s report specifically indicated, however, that there was no lack of institutional control or failure to monitor, which were two of the most serious charges NCAA investigators considered.

Athletic director David Housel declined comment this morning. University spokesman John Hachtel said the university’s brief release regarding the matter would serve as Auburn’s only official comment.

The NCAA’s letter, which outlines the specific changes in detail, will not be released to the public. Auburn has until Nov. 5 to respond to the allegations.
