The Chargers came into Week 3 versus the Ravens with only 1 thought on defense...stop Jamal Lewis. The Ravens, intimidated not in the least, came out running the ball. The result... Jamal Lewis ran for 132 yards and a touchdown en route to Baltimore's 24-10 victory over the hapless Chargers.
To make this loss even a little more sour is that starting offensive linemen Vaughn Parker will miss this Sunday's game and Soloman Page is questionable...both starters on a fairly poor offensive line the way it is.
David Boston returned, caught 6 balls for 91 yards, but many a Charger fan/spectator now question whether Boston has the desire to play for the Chargers. He gave up on many plays and really didn't seem focused throughout the game. Word is coming out that Boston and Caldwell exchanged words in the locker room before Sunday's game, but Caldwell and Schottenheimer both denied a radio report that the incident escalated to the point that Schottenheimer had to separate them. Boston has yet to do any interviews since Sunday's loss.
Tomlinson had his first 100 yard game rushing for 105 yards and had his first touchdown of the season. In addition to his ground gains, he caught 8 balls for 51 yards.
Up next for the Chargers, a trip to Oakland. With last night's loss to Denver and not wanting to lose to much ground to both the Broncos and the Chiefs in the AFC West, I am thinking the Raiders will be geared up to take the Chargers to task.
