Big news coming soon on the site design front, but I'll leave everyone in suspense for a while. A top designer (whose work you have seen everywhere) is working on a new look. In that spirit, leave links to any blogs or sports sites that you think have a look that we should be aiming for at SportsBlog.
More news on photos. Take a look at the MyWay AP Sports Photo Farm. In the new design I'd like to give you the option to link to the thumbnail picture from MyWay and have it appear with the story. The most efficient way will be to past the name of the picture, for example:
http://imgfarm.com/images/ap/gallery/
SYRACUSE_REYES.sff_NYKR201_20030923161026.jpg into the Extended Entry field. The templates will grab pictures from there and show them inline with the article on the front page and the full post.
This means that headshots can go with sports columns as well; you would just link it in the Extended Entry field, same as the offsite pictures. If you're interested in that option you'll need a picture that does not exceed 125 pixels in width or height. More details on this to come. I will be opening up the picture upload permissions as well so that you can add pictures to the site. The way I envision it is that all picture linking will be automatically done through the Extended Entry field. I'm open to other suggestions though...
That's enough news for now...

Uhm, not to be a party pooper, but...what are the legal ramifications of grabbing photos off of other websites?

Well the look I'm going for is like Google News. They thumbnail images from various news sources. Perhaps including a hyperlink to the original?
