Yesterday was quite a day for the Big East conference. Quite a day.
38-33. A game for the ages. Got to start with the Miracle in Miami. I just wish that Brock Berlin had thought before he went and taunted the Florida fans with his "Gator Chomp." Miami has had or needed that kind of swagger in a long, long time - and they still don't need it.
Virginia Tech rolled over James Madison 43-0. I just hope that Kevin Jones wasn't hurt too badly getting pushed into a concrete wall. An inexcusable play by the JMU defensive tackle.
Pitt rolled over Kent State 43-3. But only after Rod Rutherford finished serving his one quarter (?!?) suspension. I don't think this reflects well on Walt Harris or the Pitt program. But that's just my opinion.
Boston College pulled one of yesterday's Top 25 upsets knocking off Penn State pretty convincingly 27-14. Some argued that PSU never should have been ranked, but I think that BC is a much better team than people want to admit.
West Virginia plowed East Carolina 48-7. I feel bad for ECU - they have Miami next Saturday.
Syracuse beat North Carolina in a shootout 49-47. This was probably the second most exciting game in the conference yesterday.
Rutgers got hammered by Michigan State 44-28.
I wonder if Greg Schiano is starting to question his leaving Miami?
Villanova beat Temple 23-20. This was probably the least followed game in the Big East yesterday - and with good reason. Villanova at Temple sounds like a good basketball game - not football.
