Today's AJC has the breakdown of ACC games today.
WAKE FOREST
AT BOSTON COLLEGE
When; where: 1 p.m.; Chestnut Hill, Mass.
2002 records: Wake 7-6, BC 9-4
Skinny: Wake's defense might have to carry it until an offense with nine new starters can get going. (It would have been eight new starters, but then tackle Mark Moroz hurt his knee. He's expected to be out at least four weeks.)
Latest line: Eagles by 12 1/2
WESTERN CAROLINA
AT N.C. STATE
When; where: 6 p.m.; Raleigh, N.C.
2002 records: WCU 5-6, N.C. State 11-3
Skinny: Division I-AA member Western Carolina plays in the Southern Conference along with Georgia Southern. N.C. State has won the previous four games in this series by a combined 181-37.
Latest line: no line
DUKE AT VIRGINIA
When; where: 7 p.m.; Charlottesville, Va.
2002 records: Duke 2-10, UVa. 9-5
Skinny: Duke has lost its last 25 ACC games, a conference record losing streak. The good news for the Blue Devils -- they lost just two starters. The bad news -- the Cavaliers lost just five and have a lot more talent.
Latest line: Cavaliers by 16
FLORIDA STATE
AT NORTH CAROLINA
When; where (TV): 8 p.m.; Chapel Hill, N.C. (WSB)
2002 records: FSU 9-5, UNC 3-9
Skinny: Expect TV commentators to talk a lot about what happened the last time these teams played at Chapel Hill, a 41-9 UNC victory. Expect them to talk less about the grim reality that the Tar Heels' only ACC victory last year came on a last-play field goal against Duke.
Latest line: Seminoles by 16 1/2
