Chargers Sign Leon Johnson and Cut Ten Players

The San Diego Chargers signed Leon Johnson according to this report by SDBoltsReport.com.

Leon Johnson, 6-0, 222 spent three seasons with the New York Jets (1997-99) and two with the Chicago Bears (2001-2002). He joined St. Louis as an unrestricted free agent this offseason but was released by the Rams on Monday. Johnson's primary role during his career has been as a punt and kick returner.
In other Charger news, the Chargers released:

defensive end Kris Dielman, wide receiver Dondre Gilliam, guard Michael Keathley, running backs Nick Maddox and DeMarco McCleskey, wide receiver Jeremy McDaniel, linebacker LaMarcus McDonald, defensive tackle Doug Sims, wide receiver Brian Sump and offensive lineman Alex Tuttle.

and placed the following players on injured reserve:

wide receiver Tim Baker (knee), running back Antoineo Harris (knee), safety Hanik Milligan (pectoral) and linebacker Jude Waddy (ankle).
